COLONEL SANDERS’ GHOST
Police said a Kentucky Fried Chicken employee called police because, while closing the restaurant, he thought he heard someone close the bathroom door and then heard what he thought was a gun being loaded. Police said the restaurant was searched, but no one was found.
GET OUT OF JAIL FREE CARD?
Police received a call from the Center for Shopping in south Sanford about a man and woman fighting. When police arrived, they said a woman was lying on the ground. Police said when the man was arrested for domestic violence assault, he tried to use a New York City Benevolent Association card as a “get out of jail free” card.
SCENE AFTER SCENE
Police said several drivers called to report a drunken man staggering down Main Street. Police said the 18-year-old was urinating in the bushes when they located him. They said the man was warned for disorderly conduct and given a ride home. Police said about 30 minutes later, they received a call about the same man staggering down High Street, punching windows. When police arrived, the man was lying on the ground swearing. Police arrested the man who they said tried to kick the windows out of the cruiser. Police said the man was restrained and transported to York County Jail where he began to harass jail staff and threatened suicide. Police returned to the jail and transported the man to the hospital for evaluation. Police said when he was taken to the jail again, he was place on a suicide watch.
OVER-EXTENDED STAY
Police received a call from a Mill Street resident who wanted her brother-in-law removed from her home. Police said the woman’s husband recently died and his brother overstayed his welcome. Police said the woman also gave police a handgun from the home because she didn’t want it and didn’t want her brother-in-law to have it either.
THREAT OF SUICIDE
Police responded to a call on Barbara Street about an 18-year-old who threatened to kill himself after an argument with his grandfather. Police seized gun from the residence and transported the man to the hospital for evaluation. He was also charged with possession of a useable amount of marijuana.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Police arrested a 33-year-old man for criminal mischief and domestic violence assault after police said he pushed his girlfriend, broke her cell phone and dumped the contents of her purse.
WILL THE REAL VICTIM PLEASE STAND UP?
A woman reported being assaulted by a man, but when police arrived, the woman had fled. Police said after questioning, the woman was charged with domestic assault because she had allegedly assaulted the man as he slept.
NO TOUCHING
Goodall Hospital employees called police to report a patient who was causing problems. Police said a 56-year-old man was summonsed for unlawful sexual touching after he grabbed a nurse.
STOLEN RIDE
A Kempton Terrace resident called police to report his motor scooter had been stolen. Police saw a 13-year-old boy riding the stolen scooter. He was charged with unauthorized use of property.
AN AUDIENCE
A woman called police to report her boyfriend had thrown all of her belongings out in the street. Police said the woman left the home when her boyfriend became angry, but then she received a call from neighbors who told her that her belongings were in the road. Police summonsed the man for criminal mischief and violation of condition of release after she told police he had been drinking. Police said when they arrived, another caller reported people standing on the roof of a building watching the commotion.
