GUNNING TO GO TO JAIL
Police said William Boyne, 49, of Kennebunk, was arrested in Sanford for being a felon in possession of firearms. Police said Boyne had called another man to a High Street residence. When the man arrived, Boyne asked him to transport the firearms, but police said the man knew Boyne was a felon and refused. Police said Boyne allegedly slapped the man who then pushed Boyne into a snow bank. The man then drove away, but police said a witness gave police a description of the van. When police located the van, the man told police Boyne was a felon and was in possession of guns.
Police said Boyne was in possession of eight firearms including a .44 caliber revolver, a Smith and Wesson revolver, an H&R revolver, a .32 caliber revolver, two .22 caliber semi-automatic pistols, a .25 semi- automatic pistol and a 30/30 Winchester rifle, as well as assorted ammunition.
MARITAL WOES ARE ABOUT TO GET WORSE
Police said a man went to the police station to talk about his marital problems. Police said the man had been drinking and he told officers he had been arrested for domestic violence in the past. When officers asked him if he had any warrants, he said he was on probation in New Hampshire. Police ran a background check on the man and discovered he had a warrant out of Skowhegan for unpaid fines for attaching false license plates.
DING DING, ROUND TWO
Police responded to a Riverside Avenue residence after a caller reported a disturbance. Police said a 46-year-old man was arrested on two counts of assault and aggravated criminal trespassing. When police arrived, they said everyone was very drunk and they could not understand the men, but they picked the “most sober one” to tell them what happened. Police said the witness told them the 46-year-old man had gotten into a fight with an upstairs neighbor the night before. The man returned the next morning to “finish” the fight. He then went back downstairs and assaulted his wife.
POLICE MAKE WISH COME TRUE
Police said a 46-year-old Pioneer Avenue man was arrested for harassment by telephone and refusing to sign a criminal summons after he repeatedly called the police department. Police said the man’s son left the home because his father was drunk and the son was afraid of him. The man wanted police to bring his son home. Police said they told the man his son would come home after he sobered up. Police said the man continued to call police and he “begged to be arrested.” He also called the home where his son was staying while police were there talking to the boy. He was warned not to call again, but police said the calls continues. He was arrested.
ONE, TWO, THREE BAD BOYS
Police said officers were about to conduct a walk-through of a club at Lower MidTown Mall when they noticed three men standing outside. Police said one of the men passed something to another man as officers approached. Police said the men had alcohol on their breath. One man was arrested for violation of condition of release which stipulates he not consume alcohol. Police said one of his friends became upset that he was arrested and followed the police to the station where he “hung out” in the back lot. Police gave him a criminal trespass warning, but police said he continued to hang around. He was arrested for criminal trespass. Police said the third friend also showed up behind the police station. He was told to leave but refused. Police said he grabbed an officer by the shirt and was immediately “taken to the ground” by the officer. When he was instructed to put his hands behind his back, he refused to submit to arrest. A search revealed knives. The man was arrested and charged with criminal trespass, trafficking in dangerous knives, assault, refusing to submit to arrest and obstructing government administration.
