Letter: See what we have to offer (Printed Dec. 6, 2007)

Editor:
My name is Alissa Laitres, owner (along with my mom Diane Laitres) of One Earth Natural Food Store located on Route 109 in Shapleigh. We recently moved our business (formerly Summer Memory Naturals) from a rented building on Route 109, to our current location. Over the summer we purchased Emery Mills Market, an old landmark in Shapleigh, and renovated it in 2 months. We had one week to set up the store, and opened our doors to the new location Oct. 5.
The new building has allowed us to expand! We offer a larger selection of organic and all natural groceries, we have room to expand on our line of supplements and herbs, even our bulk herb and spice section is larger! We have added a selection of organic beer and local micro brews, and we are in the process of designing a deli where customers can get homemade soups, salads and sandwiches made with organic and all natural ingredients. We still offer many of the same products that we had at our former location, including bulk flours, grains, etc., organic and local produce, gluten-free groceries, cruelty free personal care items, earth friendly cleaning products, and gifts made by local artisans.
Now that we have settled in to our new location, it is time to celebrate! We celebrated two years in business on Oct. 14. Our Grand Opening Celebration started Dec. 3 and runs for three weeks. During that time, customers can enter to win one of many prizes, including bags stuffed with groceries, gift baskets with supplements and personal care items. Also, there will be daily giveaways, including samples of some of the products we offer. There will be something for everyone! This is a chance for my mom and I to thank our current customers for two great years in business, and hopefully welcome new customers into our new store in hopes of many more successful years in business!
We are also having a holiday food drive to benefit the Shapleigh Food Pantry. Donations will be accepted during store hours from Nov. 26 to Dec. 14. Store hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., the store is closed Sundays. Donations will greatly benefit families in Shapleigh this holiday season.
Happy Holidays!
