Letter: Lions Clubs need equipment (Printed Nov. 22, 2007)
Editor:
The Sanford, Acton, Shapleigh and Massabesic Lions Clubs’ H.E.L.P. (Health Equipment Loan) Program maintains a loan program for used health equipment in good condition. This program is open to the general public at no cost as long as we have the equipment on hand or can get loaners from neighboring Lions Clubs.
It is our policy to lend out equipment which is in good condition and which will help our participants. To that end we ask that our recipients take good care of the loaned material so that they can be recycled and others can use them.
We loan out hospital beds, walkers, commodes, canes, crutches, footed canes, bed tables, bathtub seats and wheelchairs among other things.
At the present we have a large demand for bathtub seats and wheel chairs and have nothing in storage. If you have good used health equipment the Lions Clubs will be pleased to pick it up and add it to their inventories.
For information and contributions of medical equipment please contact the following;
Acton Shapleigh Lions Club- Lion George Driscoll-324-6902; Massabesic Lions Club- Lion John Champion-247-4223; Sanford Lions Club- Lion Clifford Randall-636-3492.
The Limerick/Newfield Lions Club is interested in the project but does not have storage for material of great size. They ask their residents to contact the Massabesic Club, which assists in serving their area.
