Police Notes for Oct. 25, 2007

SMOKED TRASH
   Police received a call about heavy smoke in the area of Pento’s Place. Police said the smoke was coming from a dumpster.
 
POLTERGEIST
   Suspicious activity was reported in the vicinity of Goodrich’s Bicycles. A caller thought someone was in the shop after hours because the lights went off when they pulled in. Police said nobody was inside the store and said a light bulb possibley blew out.
 
QUIET PARTY
   Police received a call about a large party having a bonfire. Police said everything was OK.
 
LEGAL FEES WITH THAT?
   A McDonald’s employee called police after a driver pulled up to the drive-thru window with an open container of alcohol. The vehicle was located and stopped. Police said an 18-year-old woman from New Dam Road, North Waterboro was charged with operating after suspension and operating under the influence of alcohol. The driver was transported to York County Jail
 
POSESSION IS NOT NINE-TENTHS OF THE LAW
   A Woodvale Court resident called police to report her roommate had signed for a package in the mail and keeping the package.
FRIENDS TO THE END
   Police received a call about a loud party. Police said it was the second call to the location. One man was arrested for disorderly conduct and the other was arrested for interfering with government administration when he attempted to intervene in the arrest of his friend.

 DO NOT PASS GO
  A caller reported a man was not allowing him to leave the area of Pento’s Place. When police officers arrived, they gave the man who would not let the other leave a disorderly conduct warning.
 
NO SHIRT, NO SHOES, NO HITTING
   Police said a 17-year-old boy was charged with assault after his father called to report having a fight with his son who left the house without a shirt.

ASSAULT
   A 28-year-old woman went to the police station to report she had been assaulted by a 43-year-old Fiskdale, Mass., man. Police said the man had been removed from the home previously. Police said the man was drunk, called the officers names and threatened the officers. Police said the man had two warrants out of Florida and one out of Massachusetts, but they were not extraditable. Police said the man was taken to York County Jail where he was met by four correctional officers. Police said the woman refused medical treatment and refused to fill out domestic violence paperwork.
 
CAR ACCIDENT
   Two people were transported to the hospital for minor injuries after a two-car accident on Alfred Road.
    Sanford Police Maj. Gordon Littlefield said Dennis J. Wiggin rear ended a car driven by Jayde Burgess, 18, of Lyman, when she stopped to make a left turn onto Post Road.
   Littlefield said Wiggins fled the scene, but was located later. Littlefield said he complained of pain and was transported to Goodall Hospital.
  After being discharged from the hospital, he was arrested for a warrant and for operating after suspension.
 
WHY ARE YOU HERE?
   Police said a 25-year-old man was arrested at Lower MidTown Mall for violating condition of release.
